Trash Service – Recycling Update
Tuesday 01/27/2026 update from Trash Hauler.
Our apologies for missing this on the previous update. The recycling update from Republic Services is as follows:
Because Monday’s service was affected, it will be made up next Monday, 2/2/2026. Please place your trash and recycling carts, and additional trash bags out for collection on that day 2/2/2026 by 7:00AM. We expect to have fully recovered all trash and recycling for Monday routes by end of day on 2/3/2026. Regular service will resume Tuesday, 2/3/2026 for all other customers.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these weather-related challenges while continuing to prioritize safety and reliable service. This morning we received notice form Republic services that the roads are still too risky to travel. Unfortunately, our service pickup will be skipped and made up next Monday, February 2nd. In full transparency, the communication we received is as follows:

Dear Residents,
Due to the severe weather this week, trash and recycling services have been temporarily disrupted. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and want to assure you that our teams are working to safely restore service.
Monday’s service was postponed, and Tuesday’s service will also be delayed. To keep collections moving, we will operate on the following adjusted schedule:
- Wednesday: Tuesday’s service
- Thursday: Wednesday’s service
- Friday: Thursday’s service
- Saturday: Friday’s service
Because Monday’s service was missed, it will be made up next Monday. Please place additional trash out for collection on that day. Regular service will resume Tuesday.

With the ongoing freezing weather, the roads remain unsafe for travel. At this moment, Republic Services is shifting trash pickup tentatively to tomorrow, if we see the ice on the roads melt enough to travel safely. This is not a given and will be decided later today or early tomorrow. We recommend leaving your trash bin out until the pickup is complete. Worst case, pickup will happen on Wednesday.
MUD Offices are not manned today, but our One-Number (512) 238-0606 is available for emergencies (Option 1). The plan is to open up Tuesday 01/27/2026 albeit a late start if the roads remain unsafe.
