Due to the ice storm, MUD parks and trails are closed until future notice. Extensive tree damage has occurred and the parks and trails are unsafe. Cleanup will take several weeks so we ask for patience during this time.
Many of our residents also suffered extensive tree damage during this storm. The district is working with our solid waste hauler, Central Texas Refuse, to schedule a special pickup day for tree debris. This storm was widespread and numerous areas were affected. We will update as soon as a date is scheduled but it may be some weeks out.
But, there are several options for homeowners to remove tree debris:
1. Every trash day, Fern Bluff MUD residents may place 7 additional bundled or bagged items near their cart. All limbs or brush must the bound, less than 40 pounds, and no larger than 4 feet by 4 feet diameter
2. Central Texas Refuse will also provide a special pick up for a homeowner at an additional fee. Debris must be bundled as listed above. Please call 512-243-2833 or email customerservice@centraltexasrefuse.com to schedule.
3. There are two drop-off options for limb/brush debris. The City of Round Rock has closed their Deep Wood Facility for out of city residents due to extremely high volume but the two available options are:
Williamson County Landfill
600 County Road 128
Hutto, TX 78634
512-8881
7am-5pm Mon-Fri and Saturday 7am-12 noon
Austin Wood Recycling
2100 County Road 118
Hutto, TX 78634
512-259-7430
8am-5pm Mon-Fri and Saturday 8am -2pm
We are also hearing from residents that are successfully reaching out to vendors working in their neighborhood as well as joining with several neighbors to schedule a group cleanup. Many residents have notified us that landscaping companies and debris haulers are so busy, they aren’t answering the phone. Schedules for cleanup appear to be weeks out. We realize that this is a very trying time and hope everyone stays safe as they cleanup!
