STAGE 1 – MANDATORY WATER RESTRICTIONS
- 2-Times per Week Landscape Irrigation
The Fern Bluff Municipal Utility has enacted Stage 1- Mandatory Water Restrictions effective October 14, 2013. The district, as a wholesale customer of the City of Round Rock, has adopted and follows the city’s conservation/drought plan.
The Brazos River Authority (BRA) issued a Stage 2 Drought Warning Declaration for Lake Georgetown on October 4, 2013. The BRA has notified each of its Lake Georgetown customers that its Stage 2 declaration is required, despite recent rains and cooling temperatures, in order to make the water supply from the reservoir last longer in the continuing drought conditions.
TWICE A WEEK MANDATORY RESTRICTIONS SCHEDULE:
- Single-family residences with odd-numbered ending addresses may irrigate on Wednesdays and/or Saturdays.
- Single-family residences with even-numbered ending addresses may irrigate on Thursdays and/or Sundays.
- Commercial/Multi-family Residential addresses may irrigate on Tuesdays and/or Fridays.
Watering is allowed ONLY between midnight to 10 am and/or 7 pm to midnight on scheduled day.
The following activities are allowed on the correct schedule days as listed above:
- Outdoor irrigation
- Foundation watering
- Vehicle washing
- Filling of swimming of pools
- Golf course irrigation
- Ornamental recirculating fountains
NOT allowed:
- Street or Sidewalk washing
- Ornamental Fountains that do not recirculate.
EXCLUSIONS:
- Commercial Car Washes
- Commercial Plant Nurseries
- Commercial Power Washing Companies
- Athletic Fields where field is in use (organized youth, amateur, etc. sports)
- Necessary use to protect public health (IE: washing garbage trucks, food transport vehicles, etc.)
- Irrigation using other sources of water such as groundwater, rainwater or the City’s reuse water
